Flight 93 National Memorial

1024 580 Max Beach

The Flight 93 National Memorial commemorates the passengers and crew of United Flight 93 who, on September 11, 2001, gave their lives to prevent a planned attack on the U.S. Capitol. Located at the crash site, the 2,200-acre memorial transforms a former field into a place of reflection, reverence, and national remembrance.

Linespace was honored to be selected by Paul Murdoch Architects as the graphic design and signage consultant for this historic project. Our role included the typographic design and layout of the 40 names etched into the memorial wall, created to evoke both contemplation and timeless tribute. Every detail was approached with reverence, balancing visual restraint with emotional clarity to honor the memory of the heroes of Flight 93.

A stone timeline tracing the events of that tragic day is inlaid along the ceremonial walkway, offering visitors a subtle but powerful chronology. Throughout the site, understated signage supports orientation while maintaining the solemnity of the landscape. A custom park entry monument provides a distinct yet respectful identity, welcoming visitors to a space defined by sacrifice, national unity, and enduring legacy.

The Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe

The Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe needed signage to support arrivals, valet, and guest navigation while preserving the serenity and elegance of its alpine setting.

Linespace developed a refined signage system using stone, metal, and wood accents that echo the resort’s architectural palette. Directional signs are scaled and positioned to guide without overwhelming the natural setting. Every touchpoint—from drop-off to spa entry—delivers clarity wrapped in luxury, reinforcing the Ritz’s attention to detail and timeless style.

Kawasaki needed a dynamic trade show experience that reflected its power, performance, and innovation across motorcycles, watercraft, and recreational vehicles.

Linespace designed a high-impact exhibit environment with immersive zones, layered displays, and architectural storytelling. Custom brand vignettes highlight product categories, while bold graphics and lighting schemes communicate adrenaline and tech precision. The layout promotes flow and interaction, turning the trade show booth into an experiential brand arena.

EVgo Charge Station Concepts

1024 752 Max Beach

As EVgo (formerly NRG EVgo) prepared to expand its public EV charging network, Linespace was engaged to develop next-generation charger concepts that could flex across retail, workplace, and highway environments. The challenge was to create a system that conveyed strong brand presence, supported rapid rollout, and accommodated future co-branded installations.

Linespace designed a series of scalable charger concepts that blended industrial design with environmental graphics and infrastructure strategy. Concepts featured upright modular forms, backlit logos, integrated lighting, and protected interface zones to ensure durability and intuitive user interaction. Signage and charger enclosures were designed as a unified visual system—elevating the EVgo identity while allowing for flexible co-branding by retail and fleet partners.

The designs emphasized visibility, safety, and brand clarity in high-traffic locations, helping position the charging station not only as a utility but as a recognizable destination. Each concept prioritized manufacturability, easy maintenance, and consistency across markets—supporting EVgo’s goal to scale charging infrastructure without sacrificing design or usability.

By integrating hardware, signage, and visual language into a single branded system, Linespace provided EVgo with a toolkit of charger concepts that could be adapted across deployment phases, building public trust in EVgo’s expanding network.

Orange County Great Park

1024 1024 Max Beach

Linespace, in collaboration with Made in Space and Ken Smith Landscape Architects, was commissioned to design the identity and wayfinding system for the Western Sector of the Orange County Great Park—transforming over 200 acres of former airfield into a civic and cultural destination. The challenge was to inform, direct, and delight visitors while reflecting the site’s aviation heritage and supporting the long-term vision for a 1,300-acre multi-use development.

Linespace developed a comprehensive signage and identity program that integrates color, typography, and form in a playful, highly legible way—designed to engage both first-time visitors and returning locals. Drawing inspiration from the site’s history as the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station, the system incorporates aviation motifs, bold geometrics, and expressive letterforms to create a distinctive voice for the park’s new civic era.

The first phase of implementation included a full wayfinding master plan and the development of signage elements throughout high-traffic areas such as the Palm Court Arts Complex, the Great Park Balloon launch area, event parking zones, and key pedestrian corridors. Monument signs, trail markers, directional kiosks, and identity elements work cohesively to unify the park experience while allowing for flexible integration into future phases.

This identity and signage system not only aids in navigation—it serves as an extension of the park’s evolving character, creating a vibrant sense of place that honors the past while pointing toward an active, community-centered future.

USC Doheny Library

1024 1024 Max Beach

To celebrate the founding supporters of USC Libraries, Linespace designed a permanent donor wall and companion installation for the Friends of the USC Libraries Lecture Hall. The recognition program was created to respect the architectural character of the historic Doheny Memorial Library while delivering a timeless and meaningful tribute to those who sustain its mission.

Located along a main corridor just outside the Friends Lecture Hall, the donor wall was designed to complement the historic interior with a palette of etched glass, bronze finishes, and painted architectural surfaces. Donor names were precision-etched into glass panels and filled with a warm bronze tone, while category titles were fabricated as bronze dimensional letters applied directly to the painted wall surface—creating a subtle but elegant depth. The composition follows a structured typographic hierarchy that provides balance and clarity, allowing all honorees to be recognized with dignity and permanence.

In parallel with the wall, Linespace developed the USC Top Drawer Society, a distinctive donor experience that reuses the library’s original card catalog. Each recognized donor receives a dedicated drawer, personalized with a gold key and engraved nameplate. The installation blends nostalgia with storytelling, allowing donors to leave messages inside—sparking new family traditions and intergenerational connection. One donor, for example, regularly leaves handwritten notes for her grandchildren attending USC, turning the drawers into a living narrative of legacy and learning.

Together, these recognition elements transform historic surfaces and artifacts into a meaningful blend of memory, gratitude, and continuity—extending the USC Libraries experience into both the physical space and the lives of its community.

Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County

1024 1024 Max Beach

For decades the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles, located at Exposition Park, had been a distinguished educational institution whose location was nearly invisible to those passing by. Large trees and an expansive parking lot created a barrier between the museum and the main horoughfare, Exposition Boulevard. With the development of the Metro Exposition Line the museum recognized an opportunity to express its new brand image and transform the lawn into a welcoming interactive educational garden.

Linespace was tasked to design and integrate an exterior brand and wayfinding program in association with the phase one opening. The sign system included brand identity elements, parking graphics, wayfinding signage, and large banner building enhancements. Upon implementation the sign system presented a new image to the exposition park area that promotes the core values and brand position of the museum.
