Flight 93 Memorial

The Flight 93 National Memorial commemorates the passengers and crew of Flight 93 who, on September 11, 2001, courageously gave their lives thereby thwarting a planned attack on the US Capital. Located where the plane crashed, the park converts a former coal mining site into a designed memorial landscape of 2,200 acres.

Linespace was honored to be selected by the Flight 93 Memorial architecture firm, Paul Murdoch Architects, as the graphic design and signage consultant for the memorial. We selected typography and layouts for the names of the 40 heroes on the memorial wall with a quality of being contemplative and inspirational, while evoking a timeless tribute to the heroes of United Flight 93.

An stone timeline of the events on that tragic day is inlaid along the walkway to the memorial. timeless signage accents the visitor center, and a custom park entry monument provides a one of a kind identity.
