The El Monte Transit Station is the core project and first step for the City of El Monte to continue plans for a Transit Village that will include condos, stores, office buildings. Linespace worked closely with project architect RNL Design and Metro to design and program a complete sign system for the facility including the project identity and wayfinding signs. One of the challenges we encountered was the design of the bus stall identifier. The sign needed to incorporate a number of important functional elements such as lighting, a security camera, and a speaker, as well as digital and static signs. Linespace designed a multi-functional vertical sign that fit with the architectural design while closely adhering to the Metro graphic standard.
