Located in San Diego’s Mission Valley, The Society is a luxury residential community developed by Holland Partners that blends resort-style living with city access and neighborhood heritage. Linespace was engaged to design a comprehensive signage and wayfinding system that would distinguish the four-building campus from the adjacent Town & Country Resort, while visually tying them together through shared materials and district continuity.
The Society spans multiple surface streets and amenities across a dense urban site, requiring a clear and cohesive wayfinding strategy. Linespace worked closely with Holland Partners to define a signage program that balances clarity for first-time visitors with an elevated sense of place for residents. Exterior signage includes primary identity monuments, vehicular directionals, building identifiers, and guest-focused arrival signs—all crafted to echo the warm, mid-century-inspired aesthetic of the surrounding resort district.
Wayfinding is organized to cleanly separate residential paths from hotel traffic and event zones, ensuring guests arrive confidently and without confusion. This system not only enhances navigation—it reinforces the project’s architectural ambition to revive the social energy of Mission Valley’s past while delivering the sophistication expected of modern multifamily developments.
