Date Completed: 2022

Pacifica Hotels partnered with Linespace to develop a full brand identity system for Hotel Virginia—an iconic property in Santa Barbara’s historic core—recently refreshed as part of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection. Linespace also created the identity for the property’s in-house café and bar, reflecting the same mix of seaside spirit, contemporary energy, and design restraint.

Linespace built the Hotel Virginia brand to honor its landmark heritage while inviting guests into a warm, lively, and design-forward experience. Rooted in Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, the visual identity blends historic reference with modern minimalism—featuring a custom serif logotype, soft color palette, and detailed brand guidelines covering signage, collateral, and digital presence. The tone is approachable, yet elevated—connecting visitors with local culture through clean typography, natural textures, and a refined editorial voice.

For the café and bar, Linespace extended the brand into a lively sub-identity using a fresh plum-toned palette, geometric patterning, and a logo suite built to flex across menus, packaging, and in-room collateral. The café’s identity was designed to feel distinctive but harmonious—an energizing expression of Santa Barbara’s coastal lifestyle and food scene. Together, the brand and café create a cohesive guest journey—from arrival to morning coffee to late-night conversation—rooted in place and layered with charm.
