As EVgo (formerly NRG EVgo) prepared to expand its public EV charging network, Linespace was engaged to develop next-generation charger concepts that could flex across retail, workplace, and highway environments. The challenge was to create a system that conveyed strong brand presence, supported rapid rollout, and accommodated future co-branded installations.
Linespace designed a series of scalable charger concepts that blended industrial design with environmental graphics and infrastructure strategy. Concepts featured upright modular forms, backlit logos, integrated lighting, and protected interface zones to ensure durability and intuitive user interaction. Signage and charger enclosures were designed as a unified visual system—elevating the EVgo identity while allowing for flexible co-branding by retail and fleet partners.
The designs emphasized visibility, safety, and brand clarity in high-traffic locations, helping position the charging station not only as a utility but as a recognizable destination. Each concept prioritized manufacturability, easy maintenance, and consistency across markets—supporting EVgo’s goal to scale charging infrastructure without sacrificing design or usability.
By integrating hardware, signage, and visual language into a single branded system, Linespace provided EVgo with a toolkit of charger concepts that could be adapted across deployment phases, building public trust in EVgo’s expanding network.
