AeroVironment (now Ampure) engaged Linespace to design the housing and user-facing components for its World Cordset Charger—an EV charging product intended for international markets. The project required integrating AV’s proven electronics into a refined, ergonomic enclosure that could meet the varying technical and regulatory demands of a global rollout, while clearly expressing the brand’s identity in a competitive and fast-evolving category.

Linespace led a full-scope design and development process, beginning with physical hardware integration studies and continuing through conceptual design, production refinement, and final manufacturing support. The charger was designed to accommodate a range of global plug types and voltage requirements while remaining compact and intuitive for everyday users.

Detailed surface geometry and part interfaces were sculpted around AV’s existing electronics, with particular focus on cord management, grip ergonomics, weatherproofing, and visual simplicity. The design includes integrated cord wrap features, sealed interfaces, and a molded enclosure with clear branding elements to support recognition across regional markets.

Linespace also established recommended finishes, material specs, and graphic treatments to maintain brand cohesion across physical and digital contexts. Visualization renderings and dimensional control documentation supported both in-house and vendor manufacturing teams during prototype and production stages.

The final result is a lightweight, user-friendly charging unit that delivers AeroVironment’s technology through a form that’s both visually credible and globally compliant—demonstrating thoughtful user experience, scalable production strategy, and a strong alignment with the AV brand.
